About Me

I’m a freelance writer based in the New York area.  I’m also a big TV fan and love Buffy, Chuck, Vampire Diaries, Once Upon a Time, Sleepy Hollow and White Collar, among many other shows that I’m too embarrassed to mention because it would expose how full my DVR is because I can’t possibly keep up with them all.  I love music and U2 is my favorite band, though lately I’ve been listening to the National a lot.  I drink coffee multiple times a day and I have recently learned how to make my own lattes, which are actually pretty good if I do say so myself!  I’m interested in poverty, HIV/AIDS and environmental issues and I’ve also studied archeaology and biological anthropology (otherwise known as forensic anthropology).

Some favorite writers include Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, William Shakespeare, e.e.cummings, Bernard Cornwell and Ian McEwan.

On a more professional level, I started out my writing career interviewing celebrities on the red carpet, and have since expanded to writing for newspapers and magazines, including Organic Hudson Valley and the Southern Dutchess News, as well as numerous others.  I have a BA degree in Journalism from SUNY New Paltz and am currently working on my first novel.
